讲座摘要：

We will discuss the metric geometric mean introduced by Pusz and Woronowicz and the spectral geometric mean introduced by Fiedler and Pták, originally for n x n positive definite matrices.The relation between t-metric geometric mean and t-spectral geometric mean is established via log majorization.The result is then extended in the context of symmetric space associated with a noncompact semisimple Lie group.This is joint work with Elaine Gan and Roy Liu.

报告人简介：

    谭天祐教授于1986年获得香港大学博士学位。现任美国内华达大学雷诺分校(University of Nevada, Reno)数学与统计系终身教授、Seneca C. and Mary B. Weeks Chair in Mathematics、系主任。主要从事矩阵，多重线性代数，数值域和李群方面的研究。在SIAM Journal of Matrix Analysis and Applications、Linear Algebra and Its Applications、Linear and Multilinear Algebra、Journal of Algebra、 Journal of London Mathematical Society、Bulletin of Canadian Mathematical Society、Pacific Journal of Mathematics等国际学术期刊上发表学术论文100余篇和研究专著 Matrix Inequalities and their Extensions to Lie Groups, CRC/Taylor & Francis Group, 2018.目前担任国际学术期刊 Linear and Multilinear Algebra、 Electronic Linear Algebra、Special Matrices的编委，美国 Mathematical Reviews 及德国 Zentralblatt Math的评论员；曾被邀请共同撰写 Handbook of Linear Algebra,曾被邀请在国际数学会议上和各大学作学术报告超过 200 次，多次组织国际数学会议。
