应云顶国际4008服务平台的邀请,加拿大约克大学数学与统计系Jane Heffernan副教授将对我院进行学术访问,期间将做以下学术报告:
报告题目:Modelling infectious diseases: A multi-scale problem
时间:10月23日,10:15-11:15
地点:理科楼202
报告摘要:Infectious diseases affect individuals and, in turn, affect populations. On the other hand, the prevalence of a disease in a population affects the development of immunity in individuals. In this talk I will present mathematical models of infectious disease in-host, and between hosts, that affect the development of immune system memory. An immuno-epidemiology model that combines in-host and epidemiological considerations will also be discussed.
报告人简介:Dr Heffernan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at York University, and York Research Chair (Tier II). She is also the Director of the Centre for Disease Modelling (CDM), and is on the Board of Directors of the Society of Mathematical Biology (SMB). Dr Heffernans research program centres on understanding the spread and persistence of infectious diseases. Her, Modelling Infection and Immunity Lab (MI2), which is affiliated with the Centre for Disease Modelling (CDM) focuses on the development of new biologically motivated models of infectious diseases (deterministic and stochastic) that describe pathogen dynamics in-host (mathematical immunology) and in a population of hosts (mathematical epidemiology). Models in immuno-epidemiology, which integrate the in-host dynamics with population level models, are also developed.
